Little Tokyo Pop-Up Pavilion “CYCLE OF CREATION”

In collaboration with Roshan Patel

The Little Tokyo Pop-Up Pavilion is a concrete spiral pathway framed by a mural of local creators, guiding visitors inward to a dynamic centerpiece. At the heart of the spiral, the central node operates as both a spatial and symbolic pause—an architectural moment of reflection before reemergence. A wall of rotating cubes, like a life-sized Rubik’s Cube, offers layered experiences: one side mirrors the viewer, placing them within the mural as a creator themselves; another aligns to spell out “You Are a Creator”; and a third provides a wayfinding map that redirects visitors to nearby creative hubs. This interactivity transforms the pavilion into a site of creativity and connection, serving as a prelude to the planned tool library and aquatic center while encouraging visitors to reenter the world as active participants in shaping the creative culture.

This installation is just the beginning—follow along for updates as the site evolves into a tool library and aquatic center that will further empower creativity, learning, and community in Little Tokyo.
